Estes Park
At the end of the day, there is beautiful Estes Park with its restaurants,
art galleries outdoor outfitters, nightlife, and mouth watering
caramel corn, taffy and fudge. On Cleave Street is 4 miles from
Rocky Mountain National Park. The new River Walk across the street
provides a walking path to the Park We will tour area museums, artifact
storage facilities, library and cultural institutions.
Rocky Mountain National Park
Straddling the continental Divide, Rocky Mountain National Park
offers spectacular mountain vistas with granite summits and broad
forested valleys. Called the "rooftop of America" the
park contains over 60 peaks above 12,000 feet. There are over 359
miles of trails in the park covering a wide range of terrain from
alpine meadows to steep climbs along granite walls.
the park is best visited by driving trailridge road which travels
over the divide and through the park. Trailridge is only open in
summer months and is the highest continuous paved highway in the
United States.
High on trailridge road, you will find expanses of Alpine Tundra
which covers a third of the Park's area. The route goes for 11 miles
above tree line and climbs from 7,522 feet to over 12,000 feet above
sea level.
Old Fall River Road offers a dramatic 11-mile journey past waterfalls,
glacial deposits and icy pools. You can do a look starting with
Fall River Road and returning via Trail Ridge Road.
