Schindel Conservation is a full-service conservation laboratory.
Ms. Schindel received her conservation training at the Courtauld
Art Institute, University of London, 1985-88'. Her area of
expertise is Textile and Costume Conservation and mixed-media
artifacts containing textiles. She has treated a wide range
of textiles including quilts, woven coverlettes, flags, banners,
historic costume, wedding dresses, hats, shoes, accessories,
interior furnishings, uholstery, family heirlooms, etc.
Additionally, Ms. Schindel has worked closely with small,
rural, and tribal museums over a 15-year period training,
resourcing, and implementing collections care and conservation
priorities. Ms. Schindel established the residential Westend
Training Center, Estes Park, Colorado to organize and resource
people working in small, rural, and tribal museums in the
Western and Mountain and Plains regions. |
