A Museum Conservation Laboratory

Terri Schindel Conservation is a full-service conservation laboratory.

Ms. Schindel received her conservation training at the Courtauld Art Institute, University of London, 1985-88'. Her area of expertise is Textile and Costume Conservation and mixed-media artifacts containing textiles. She has treated a wide range of textiles including quilts, woven coverlettes, flags, banners, historic costume, wedding dresses, hats, shoes, accessories, interior furnishings, uholstery, family heirlooms, etc.

Additionally, Ms. Schindel has worked closely with small, rural, and tribal museums over a 15-year period training, resourcing, and implementing collections care and conservation priorities. Ms. Schindel established the residential Westend Training Center, Estes Park, Colorado to organize and resource people working in small, rural, and tribal museums in the Western and Mountain and Plains regions.

Ms. Schindel works on-site in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas to train by project and assist those who are committed to implementing their institution's collection and conservation needs.

Following additional services are offered:

Supervised internships and service learning programs
Collections Care/Preventive Conservation training
Residential workshops at the Westend Training Center in Estes Park, Colorado.
